Ok, continuing the story from part 1 I finally finished cleaning the components with the isopropyl alcohol and left overnight. And… it’s still dead, no memory lights, no motherboard boot codes just silence. Well it was worth a try.

Ok, let’s get replacement parts. Off to the shop I go, a few hours later all new parts assembled and power connected and… no boot! Are you kidding me!?! Looks like a duff processor as motherboard and memory are looking good but I’m getting a code to say no processor detected. So after another bout of obscenities I leave the room with no choice but to return processor number two on Monday when the computer shop reopens. So I guess it’s third time lucky… remind me again why we do this? 😤
